How Christ Has Brought Me Out of Tragedy I was born into a family of 3 kids and a loving Christian mother. When I was just 4 years old my parents divorced. My mother was born blind but despite that fact made sure that we always went to church. I am a Christian because I had a praying mother. One night while driving to a restaurant our car was hit by an elderly woman who had fallen asleep at the wheel. My sister and I were the only 2 survivors of the 6 people involved in the accident. My mother, brother, soon to be step dad, and the driver of the other car were all killed. I was 9 years old. I woke up in the hospital with 3 broken bones and a Lacerated Liver. I had flown 150 feet and landed in a farmers field which God had the farmer plow the night before, or I would have been killed. While in the hospital my father remarried. And my sister and I were unable to attend the funeral. But God had a better plan for my life. One night when I was 16 at a Little church in Montana God showed his love to me in a whole new way. He gave me a passion for children's ministry where I have now been serving for 3 years at Celebration church in Lakeville, MN. I know what I have gone through would cause most people to have a major breakdown, but it gave me strength for today and helped me to cling on closer to Christ. The reason I started serving at the church was, one day I was driving in my car and I asked God, Why aren't you using me in a big way. I heard God say, I can't even use you in a small way. So I started volunteering at the church. I did whatever i could help the church with. After I had volunteered for a Kids Camp Counselor, the Music director who is great at designating jobs, introduced me to Lon Flippo our Children's Pastor with whom I worked with until he left and now I have been there for 3 years. It is amazing how much God has taught me working with kids. It makes you realize how much you have to watch everything you do and that even things you may do outside of church can have a lasting Impact on there spiritual growth. I have been told: 1. I have strong faith for my age. 2. Prophesied-in July 2005 at kids camp. I will be a Pastor. 3. Prophesied-in March 2006 It's My Season. When I found out I was to go on the mission trip. 4. Prophesied-on Oct 11 2006 that I will be a Great leader 5. Prophesied-on Oct 11 2006 that I have Tenacity and will be unstoppable. 6. Prophesied-on Oct 11 2006 that I have Favor from God, I will be able to go places most people can't go
I'm sure what you have just read saddens your heart. It's hard to believe I've made it through all of this tragedy. Each event happened unexpectedly and without warning because life is unpredictable. Jesus Christ has sustained me through all of this. He says in His word Hebrews 13:5 "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." & Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to Prosper you, Not to harm you, to give you a Future and a Hope. Without faith I would have been lost or worse dead. Do you know if you died today that your sins are forgiven? Are you 100% sure that you will go to heaven? Have you given your life to the Lord?
