The Costa Rica 2008 Experience!
Our trip to Costa Rica was Amazing! We were able to speak to over 1000 kids in 13 different, Schools and Churchs! We taught on Respect! What it is, how it applies to life & how they should respect others & themsleves! We worked along side the Quepos Police as we taught on Sex & how God wants them to protect themselves! It was pretty sad when we were teaching and a 6 year old girl came up to one of my team mates & said "What if you have already been touched in that way" How sad that a 6 year old girl had to go through that! 85 % of kids in Quepos, Costa Rica have a chance of being a victim of Sexual Abuse & Sex Trafficing! They are generally abused by tourists! The tourists pay Cabbies to pick them up a child & bring them to the hotel room. How sick is that. Then the tourist will pay off the cab driver. There was news of a 12 year old girl that this happened to while we were in Quepos & the family disowned this little girl when they found out what happened! Costa Rica needs more education on how to protect themselves & there kids! Please pray for Costa Rica that God would raise up Mighty Men & Women of God to help Jay & Nancy Dickerson "Our Missionaries" & the Police fight this Injustice! God bless you all!
Dear friends, family, Church family, and past supporters,
As some of you might know, last January – June of 2007 I experienced some of the most miraculous, amazing, and God-fulfilling times of my life. Through the aid of many generous supporters, I was given the opportunity to serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the streets of Australia, in the slums of Durban, and among the prostitutes, destitutes, and homeless children in South Africa. I thought I was going into the world to affect lives, bring the love of Jesus, deliver the message of the Gospel, and see lives changed. Although those things did occur, what I didn’t realize was that my life was forever going to be altered and transformed for the Kingdom of God. This was my Humility. My eyes have been opened to a world that is in need of a Savior!
Friends, I am here to tell you that the Lord is on the move! Mighty wonders are happening all over the world for the sake of hastening the Kingdom of Heaven. He is doing powerful things not just in other countries but in America as well! Our country is the most profitable and powerful country in the world at this time. That is something to praise Him for! We, as a nation, are called by God to give to the advancing of the Kingdom throughout the nations of the world. I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I witnessed first hand the oppression and poverty during my time in South Africa. We stayed in Kwa Ma Shu, Durban, and Piet Retief.
Any help you can provide is needed, even if it is the pennies on the floorboard of your car. It multiplies I promise…I have seen it happen many times! But more so it is the power of your prayers that are needed. Thank you for your time.
